Director of Corporate Partnerships & Marketing
Responsibilities: The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference seeks qualified candidates to fill the position of Director of Corporate Partnerships & Marketing. The position will report directly to the Director of Media Relations. The Director of Corporate Partnerships & Marketing will be responsible for the overall management of the marketing department and will work with IMG College representatives with coordinating corporate partnership proposals and fulfillments. The position will serve as the liaison to the institution’s alumni offices and athletic marketing staffs. Candidates must be self motivated, creative, hard working and a team player. Must possess a positive attitude and be able to multitask efficiently and effectively.
Preferred Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:
1. Must possess a Bachelor’s degree (required).2. Must have 3-5 years’ experience in marketing and/or athletic administration.
3. Must be able to procure year-round corporate partnerships and generate sponsorship revenue.
4. Direct, coordinate and implement sports promotions activities to achieve maximum ticket sales for all MEAC championships and the annual basketball tournament, including ticket books and individual ticket sales plans; direct and coordinate ticket sales campaigns, and group sales.
5. Represent the MEAC in negotiating media buys including newspaper, television, and radio advertising as well as billboards and point-of-purchase advertising.
6. Provide leadership in the coordination and direction of special day promotions.
7. Prepare and implement marketing programs for the MEAC.
8. Create and implement marketing programs to develop all MEAC championships and the basketball tournament, including: developing market profiles, indentifying prospects, selecting media and message, and preparing collateral materials.
9. Order tickets for the basketball tournament; coordinate ticket distribution with outside agencies and ensure compliance with corporate partnership contracts.
10. Liaison to MEAC Marketing Directors and Alumni Directors.
11. Manage all Corporate Partner fulfillments and deliverables.
12. Maintain marketing, fan and website databases.
13. Attend MEAC sports championships.
14. Working knowledge of computer applications and software including PageMaker, Photoshop, Desktop Publishing, MS Office, e-mail, and social networking.
15. Must be able to work weekends/evenings and travel.
16. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively, both internally and externally.
17. Must be able to multitask efficiently and effectively.
18. Any additional duties as assigned by the Commissioner or Director of Media Relations.

Assistant Director of Media Relations
Job Description:
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference seeks qualified candidates to fill the position of Assistant Director of Media Relations. The position will report directly to the Director of Media Relations. The Assistant Director of Media Relations will be responsible for the overall management of media operations for assigned sports. The position will serve as the liaison to the institution’s sports information directors and specified sport contacts. Candidates must be self-motivated, creative, organized, hardworking and a team player. Must possess a positive attitude and be able to multitask efficiently and effectively. Must be able to travel.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for accurate statistical publications and record keeping for assigned sports.
- Responsible for the production of press releases and weekly notes for assigned sports, championships and other MEAC events.
- Serve as a primary contact for Women’s Basketball, Softball, Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Volleyball and other assigned sports with the MEAC Sports Information offices to ensure the conference is provided with up-to-date information including scores, stats and team information from each institution.
- Assist the Director of Media Relations in the production of conference media guides, souvenir guides and other special publications.
- Assist the Director of Media Relations in the editing of championship booklets and other publications by the MEAC Office.
- Assist the Director of Media Relations in day-to-day media requests from local, regional and national outlets.
- Responsible for the compilation of press releases, statistical information, etc. for MEAC Year-in-Review booklets.
- Assist the Director of Media Relations in the organization and management of media operations during the MEAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament.
- Assist the Director of Media Relations with the supervision of interns within the media relations department.
- Maintain and ensure information on the MEAC website is accurate and updated daily.
- Ensure information/procedures for selection of strident student-athlete weekly awards are followed.
- Ensure that information that is submitted to the NCAA is accurate and meets deadlines.
- Keep accurate files for all MEAC athletic events, i.e. (Pre and Post Season Honors, Weekly Accolades, etc.)
- Serve as the media relations contact at specified MEAC championships. Ensure that championship information (statistics, stories, etc.) are posted on the website and distributed to the media in a timely fashion.
- Responsible for coordinating video and photography services at MEAC championships and MEAC events.
- Responsible for the creation of conference printed advertisements as designated by the Director of Media Relations and the Commissioner.
- Responsible for communicating to the Director of Media Relations and the Commissioner of noteworthy/record breaking events for the MEAC.
- Assist the Director of Media Relations with the production of conference commercials both video and audio.
- Provide the Commissioner with bi-weekly information regarding member institutions.
- Any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Media Relations and the Commissioner.
Qualifications:
2. Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills
3. Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications such as PageMaker, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, web design/editing, Statcrew statistical software
4. Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays, non-traditional hours
5. Willingness to travel to conference sponsored events

Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Media Relations Internship
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) is accepting applications for a Media Relations Intern to support the Media Relations department.
Responsibilities: The intern will assist with the overall management of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Media Relations department. Responsibilities range from writing, editing and design of athletic publications, press releases and web pages to game management and statistical compilation at conference championships.
Some of the duties the intern will be responsible for include, but are not limited to:
1) Assist in the production of publications: media guides, weekly notes, promotional flyers, etc.
2) Assist in writing and distribution of press releases, feature stories and result reporting for applicable sports.
3) Maintain informative and accurate records as well as an organized filing system for designated areas of responsibility. Includes: news clippings, web searches and record keeping.
4) Assist with general office work; filing, mailing, correspondence.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook), Adobe Photoshop, In-Design, Stat Crew statistical software and Acrobat is preferred. The selected candidate must be able to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality; have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Applicants should be outgoing, detail oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills and a high level of professionalism are essential.

Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships Intern
Purpose of the Job:
To assist the Director of Championships and his staff with the day-to-day operations of the department as well as with preparations for special events and championships.
The duties will include, but not be limited to the following:
-event management
-marketing and promotions
-production of marketing materials
-distribution of facility information
Duties to include:
1. Disseminating pre-championship information to teams.
2. Disseminating pre-championship information to Staff.
3. Assisting with tournament registration and coaches meetings.
4. Oversee volunteers.
5. Assisting with overseeing the championship section of the website.
6. Assist director with awards ceremony.
7. Assist director with post tournament team evaluations.
8. Assist director with post tournament reports.
9. Manage and assist with championship publications.
10. Assist director with overseeing Hall of Fame Ceremony.
11. Responsible for ordering and disseminating team gifts and awards.

Position Overview
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) offers a position for a Compliance Intern to support the Compliance Office.
Organization Description
The MEAC is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I conference, made up of 13 (thirteen) outstanding historically black institutions across the Atlantic Coastline: Bethune-Cookman University, Coppin State University, Delaware State University, Florida A&M University, Hampton University, Howard University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina A&T State University, North Carolina Central University, Savannah State University, and South Carolina State University.
Job Description
The Compliance Intern Shall:
1. Prepare compliance related reports
2. Process entry/event entry forms for championships
3. Maintain and file compliance related forms
4. Accurately review and track conference official certification, NCAA squad lists and weekly participation rosters and notify memberships of missing information
5. Track NCAA waivers and violations to prepare mid-year and final reports
6. Assist with the coordination of Cheerleading Championship
7. Assist with the MEAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
8. Assist with updating of MEAC SAAC and Compliance Websites
9. Develop/revise conference compliance forms and prepare materials for meetings
10. Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director for Compliance & Championships and Assistant Commissioner for Administration & Compliance
