Hampton's Rose Announces New Football Coaching Staff

HAMPTON, Va. – In preparing for the 2013 season, Hampton University head football coach Donovan Rose has announced his coaching staff for the coming year, unveiling a staff that has undergone several changes.

Rose is in his fifth season at the helm.

In addition to his duties as offensive coordinator, Earnest Wilson III will also serve as wide receivers coach in the coming season. Wilson is entering his second season at the helm of the Pirates’ offense. Darryl Bullock will continue to serve as offensive line coach.

Newcomer Glen Ferebee will serve as quarterbacks coach, while David Banks will return for his second season coaching the running backs.

Bernard Clark will take over as defensive coordinator, while Delbert Cowsette will return for his third season as defensive line coach and Cordell Taylor will serve as secondary coach. Brandon Thompson will return as the team’s graduate assistant and quality control coach.

On top of his duties as special teams coordinator, Michael Villagrana, who has been at Hampton for the past four seasons, will serve as the team’s recruiting coordinator.

The Pirates’ Blue and White Spring Game will be held on Friday at 4:30 p.m. at Armstrong Stadium. The 2013 season opener will be on Aug. 29, when Hampton heads to Macomb, Ill. to take on Western Illinois.
