NCCUíS Proctor Receives Invitation To Detroit Lionsí Rookie Minicamp

DETROIT – North Carolina Central University senior defensive end Xavier Proctor has received an invitation to the Detroit Lions’ rookie minicamp, which takes place May 10-12.

Proctor, a 6-6, 272-pound lineman out of Ellicott City, Md., amassed 143 tackles, including 26.5 hits for a loss with 10.0 sacks (eight unassisted), during his stellar four-year NCCU career from 2009-12.

As a senior in 2012, Proctor earned All-MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Second Team honors. He started all 11 games on the Eagles’ defensive front, recording 42 total tackles (21 solo) and ranking second on the team with 10.5 takedowns behind the line of scrimmage and 4.0 sacks.

Proctor also garnered All-MEAC Second Team recognition as a junior in 2011, tallying 37 tackles with 7.5 hits for a loss and 3.5 sacks, along with two quarterback hurries, a forced fumble and a blocked kick.
