MEAC Volleyball Schedule Changes Due to Hurricane Irma
Several MEAC volleyball squads are seeing changes to their schedules this coming weekend due to Hurricane Irma's pending landfall.
Bethune-Cookman had been scheduled to travel to Tampa, Fla. for the USF Classic on Friday and Saturday, competing in three matches over the two days. But South Florida canceled the tournament.
In addition, Savannah State will not head to Statesboro, Ga. this weekend, where it was scheduled to compete in the GATA Challenge hosted by Georgia Southern. Savannah State and Georgia Southern will play home-and-home matches later in the season, at dates to be determined, but the Lady Tigers' match against Kennesaw State will not be rescheduled.
The Lady Tigers' Tuesday match at Charleston Southern has also been canceled; a make-up date will be announced at a later date.
In addition, the FSU-FAMU Classic co-hosted by Florida A&M and Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla., has been canceled.
