MEAC Announces Weekly Bowling Honors
NORFOLK, Va., Nov. 7, 2017—Delaware State junior Olivia Laird was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Laird (Jr., Middletown, Del.) averaged 205.2 pins in traditional play this past weekend at the Sam Houston State Track Kat Klash, ranking ninth among 140 bowlers. She helped the Hornets pick up seven wins over Top-25 programs over the weekend, and in traditional play, she broke 200 in four of her five games – including a weekend-best 225 against Youngstown State.
Other Top Performers
Nia Turner (CSU) helped the Eagles finish fourth in the Virginia Union Invitational, averaging 161.8 pins.
Devin Hill-Bartlett (MSU) averaged 180.6 pins at the FDU Jamboree, bowling a 203 against LIU Brooklyn in traditional play.
Cameron Strombeck (NCAT) averaged 195.8 pins and bowled a career-high 238 against No. 6 Stephen F. Austin.
