MEAC Announces Weekly Volleyball Honors
NORFOLK, Va., September 18, 2017—Maryland Eastern Shore junior Lucia Babic was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week, the conference office announced today. Norfolk State’s Taylor Eichelberger was named Rookie of the Week, while Florida A&M junior Valentina Carrasco earned Defensive Specialist of the Week honors and Howard junior Tamia Dockery was named Setter of the Week.
Babic (5-10, Jr., OH, Sisak, Croatia) earned All-Tournament honors in the Henson’s Hawk Invite after helping Maryland Eastern Shore go 3-1 in the tournament. She hit .367 for the weekend, averaging 3.1 kills per set. She had 15 kills, seven digs, two aces and two blocks against Delaware State, before adding 12 kills, five blocks and three aces against UNC Asheville. Babic also had 13 kills, eight digs, five blocks and two aces against Campbell. For the weekend, Babic tallied 12 total blocks, seven aces and 21 digs to go along with her 40 kills.
Eichelberger (5-19, Fr., OH, Roanoke, Va.) hit .198 in the Red Flash Invitational this past weekend, including a 12-kill, five-dig, two-block effort against Bucknell on Saturday. She hit a weekend-best .310 in that match, and Eichelberger added nine kills and two blocks against Saint Francis (Pa.).
Carrasco (5-6, Jr., L, Lima, Peru) averaged 6.7 digs per set this past weekend, earning All-Tournament honors in the Florida Invitational. She racked up 34 digs in a four-set win over Northern Kentucky on Saturday, and she added 23 digs against Lipscomb.
Dockery (5-8, Jr., S, Richmond, Texas) averaged 8.9 assists per set this past weekend in the D.C. Classic, including 34 against American. She also tallied 32 assists apiece against Iowa and Princeton, giving her six straight matches in which she has recorded at least 30 assists. Dockery also had nine digs in each match, and for the weekend, she added six total blocks and two aces.

Angel Jamerson (CSU) had 41 assists against UNC Asheville.
Elanna Nellis (CSU) has a season-high four kills and 5.5 points against Maryland Eastern Shore.
Glorines Rosado (CSU) had double-digit digs in three of Coppin State’s four matches last week, including 16 against UNC Asheville.
Asia Stennis (CSU) had 11 kills and 13 digs against UNC Asheville.
Reeana Richardson (HAM) had a season-high 19 kills against George Mason, hitting .250, after tallying 15 kills against Loyola (Md.).
Courtney Dalton (HOW) racked up 13 kills against Princeton after recording 11 against Iowa en route to earning D.C. Classic All-Tournament honors.
Edie Brewer (NCAT) had 19 assists, 11 digs and eight kills in a four-set loss to Campbell.
Jasmine Lindor (NCAT) had eight kills, three aces and two blocks against Campbell.
Milanna Morgan (NCAT) racked up 12 digs against Campbell.
Melvina Brown (NSU) had 21 digs each against Morehead State and Bucknell.
