MEAC Announces Baseball Weekly Honors
Bethune-Cookman junior Peter O'Brien earned Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week honors in baseball, the conference announced on Monday. Delaware State's Jordan Elliot was named the Pitcher of the Week, while Coppin State's Zach Spahn earned Rookie of the Week accolades.
O'Brien (C, 6-5, Jr., Miami Gardens, Fla.) aided the Wildcats to a 2-2 mark in a series against South Florida last week. The catcher recorded four RBI, two home runs, one double and walked twice in 14 appearances. Defensively, he added six assists and 21 putouts.
Elliott (P,6-2, R-So., Lincoln, Del.) earned the win as Delaware State defeated Hartford 3-2. Elliot recorded a 0.00 ERA and struck out four of the 26 batter he faced. He allowed two unearned runs and walked one in seven innings.
Spahn (1B/P, 6-2, Fr., Baltimore, Md.) averaged .545 from the plate with seven RBI, including three home runs, and one double in five games for the Eagles. In 11 appearances at the plate, Spahn aided his team with six runs. Defensively, he added two assists and 20 putouts. At the mound, he pitched a complete game and earned a victory against Savannah State.

Andre McKoy (NCAT) hit .375 from the plate with one RBI and one double in two games for the Aggies.
Raymond Morton (NSU) earned his second win of the year and struck out two of the 30 batters he faced against Penn.
John Rasberry (NSU) batted .571 and tallied a career-high four hits in a 3-2 loss to Penn.
