MEAC Announces Baseball Weekly Honors

North Carolina A&T right fielder Xavier Macklin earned MEAC Player of the Week honors in baseball, the conference announced on Monday.   Delaware State's Ryan Haas was named the Pitcher of the Week and North Carolina A&T's Luke Tendler earned Rookie of the Week accolades.

Macklin (OF, 6-1, Jr., Rocky Mount, N.C.) hit .438 with 10 RBI, five home runs and one double in five Aggie games last week.  Macklin recorded seven hits in 16 appearances and collected 13 putouts and one assist.

Haas (P, 6-2, So., Middletown, Del.) recorded a 1.28 ERA and struck out four batters in 7.0 innings against Navy.  He walked one and allowed only one earned run in the victory.

Tendler (SS, 6-1, Fr., Wilmington, N.C.) posted eight RBI, one home run, one triple and four doubles last week for the Aggies. The shortstop hit .391 (9-of-23) and recorded eight putouts and 16 assists defensively.

Other Top Performers:

Troy Drummond (DSU) was 3-of-4 with two RBI in a 14-1 win against Navy last week.

Brandon Hairston (NSU) hit .385 with seven RBI and two home runs in three games for the Spartans.

Matt Wright (B-CU) averaged .500 (4-of-8) with three doubles against Jacksonville and Central Florida.
