Rmidi Kinini prepares for historic run at NCAA Nationals
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — For the first time in Maryland Eastern Shore history, a cross country runner will represent the school at the NCAA Nationals. Senior Khalil Rmidi Kinini makes the trek to Indiana State University to run in the meet, which takes place at noon on Saturday.
Rmidi Kinini earned this trip to Terre Haute after qualifying at NCAA Regionals in Pennsylvania on November 11th. At the 10k event, Rmidi Kinini placed fifth in the field of 157 with a time of 30:54 with a mile split of four minutes, 59 seconds. He was one of 18 participants from the Mid-Atlantic Regional to make the cut for Nationals.

Although the indoor and outdoor seasons remain, Saturday marks the final meet that Rmidi Kinini will compete in as a Maryland Eastern Shore cross country athlete. In four years as a Hawk he has spearheaded the men’s cross country team to three Mid-Eastern Athlete Conference championships and several NCAA Regional appearance. He also earned meet records and led the Hawks to top 25 polls in the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
For the remainder of the Hawks, the indoor season will begin in December.
