MEAC Announces Weekly Cross Country Honors
NORFOLK, Va., Oct. 11, 2017—Florida A&M sophomore David Too was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference office announced today. Hampton freshman Eusila Chepkemel was named Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Too (Jr., Eldoret, Kenya) won individual gold at the Florida State Invitational this past weekend, setting a Florida State course and Florida A&M program record by running a 24:15.60 over the 8K course. That time is the fastest in the MEAC, and Too bettered his conference-best time by 36 seconds. His effort helped the Rattlers finish second in the 18-team field.
Chepkemel (Fr., Kapsabet, Kenya) ran a MEAC-best 17:27.30 at the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge in Cary, N.C., winning the individual title and helping Hampton win the meet for the second straight year. She topped the conference’s previous fastest time in 5K by just over 15 seconds.

Tatyana Hodnett (B-CU) ran a 30:32.10 in the Disney Cross Country Classic.
Daniel Kiptoo (B-CU) was seventh overall at the Disney Cross Country Classic with a 26:28.30.
Mark London (CSU) was ninth in the Delaware State Pre-Conference Invite after running a 29:39.20.
Tatiana Ogundeko (CSU) ran a 19:56.60 to finish fourth in the Delaware State Pre-Conference Invite.
Emmax Kiplagat (FAMU) was 13th in the Florida State Invitational after running an 18:29.02.
Mohamed Bah (HOW) ran a 28:06.80 to finish fifth at the Delaware State Pre-Conference Invite for his third top-five finish of the season.
Destiny Stanford (HOW) ran a 19:39.60 to finish second at the Delaware State Pre-Conference Invite.
Oussama Chouati (MDES) ran a 27:20.50 to win the Delaware State Pre-Conference Invite – his first collegiate individual title.
Sharon Jerop (MDES) picked up her third individual win of the season at the Delaware State Pre-Conference Invite, running the 5K course in 19:35.80.
Camille Martin (NCAT) led the Aggies at the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge, running a 19:27.30 to finish sixth.
Mar’Quise McGee (NCAT) came in third in the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge with a time of 26:22.40.
