FAMU’s Kibii Finishes Fourth At UNF Cross Country Meet Saturday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Junior Judith Kibii turned in her second straight Top 10 finish Saturday, running fourth at the UNF Cross Country Invitational at the Hayt Golf Course.

The Kenya native ran the 3 kilometer course in 10:39.20 Saturday morning, with teammate Fridah Limo (10:47.29) placing 10th, and newcomer Emmax Kiplagat running 11:17.78, good for 24th.

FAMU will be off until Saturday, September 24, when they participate in the Mountain Dew Cross Country Invitational at the University of Florida.

Hawks dominate first Cross Country meet of the season

SMYRNA, Del. — The first test of the 2016 season was passed with flying colors by the Maryland Eastern Shore cross country team. Both the men’s and women’s teams won the race collectively while a pair of Hawks won the meet as individuals.

Senior Khalil Rmidi Kinini achieved victory on the men’s side with a time of 16:03.10. The win comes off the heels of a great junior campaign where he won four meets during the cross country season. On the women’s side, freshman Sharon Jerop was victorious in her first collegiate meet, racing to a time of 20:19.90.

Maryland Eastern Shore returns to Princess Anne to host the Cappy Anderson Invitational, beginning at 10:30 a.m. on September 17th.
