Jaguars Wrap Up Play At 116th U.S. Amateur

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. – The Augusta Jaguars concluded their campaign at the U.S. Amateur Championship as Robin Petersson ended his run in the round of 64 and Jake Marriott and Broc Everett in the first round of stroke play at Oakland Hills Country Club.

Petersson advanced to the round of 64 after he shot 65 and 75 in his opening two rounds on the par-70 course. His five-under 65 gave him a tie for the lead after the first 18 holes. Petersson was tied for 30th overall after 36 to move on to the round of 64.

The round of 64 players went head-to-head in single elimination match play on the South Course until only two remained.

Petersson met American Jimmy Stanger (Tampa, Fla.) in round two and fell 4-2 in match play. Stanger competes for the University of Virginia and just wrapped his junior year in 2015-16.

Jaguar junior Broc Everett and senior Jake Marriott also competed in the event. In the first round of stroke play, Marriott finished with a 144 (+4) shooting 70 and 74 while Everett shot 149 (+9) with a 71, and 78.

Curtis Luck, of Perth, Australia, won the event and claimed the Havemeyer Trophy with a 6-and-4 win over Brad Dalke on Sunday.
