MEAC Completes Day Two of 2017 Men's Golf Championship
SAVANNAH, Ga., April 27, 2017—Through 36 holes in the 2017 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Golf Championship at Crosswinds Golf Club, Augusta University holds a 23-stroke lead, sitting at 22-under with a two-day total of 554 (277-277).
The two-time defending MEAC champion also has five of the top six spots on the individual leaderboard, starting with Emmanuel Kountakis – who shot a 6-under 66 on Thursday to take a four-shot lead at 9-under. Broc Everett, who held the lead after Wednesday, is second at 6-under after shooting a 1-under 71 on Thursday.
Jake Marriott vaulted to third with a 3-under 69 to sit at 4-under overall.
Gustav Andersson fired a 1-under 71 to sit in a tie fourth place with Bethune-Cookman's Christian Hovstadius at 3-under overall. Viktor Edin was sixth at 1-under after shooting an even-par 72 on Thursday.
Hovstadius fired a 3-under 69 on Thursday.
The Wildcats' Marcus Sundloff is seventh at even par after Thursday's 1-under 71. Samuel Bradley of North Carolina Central and Bethune-Cookman's Samuel Sloman were tied for eighth at 2-over, and Savannah State's Zach Otto rounded out the top 10 at 3-over.
Bethune-Cookman sits in second in the team standings with a 3-under 577 (292-285), while North Carolina Central (298-307=605) sits in third.
Savannah State (300-306=606) sits in fourth after two rounds, while Hampton (302-310=612), Florida A&M (314-304=618) and Maryland Eastern Shore (331-326=657) round out the field.
Friday's final round will begin with the first tee time at 8 a.m. Live scoring will again be available through GolfStat.
