HAMPTON, Va. - The Hampton University football team wrapped up its 2016 home slate on Saturday afternoon at Armstrong Stadium with a 17-10 loss to rival Norfolk State in the annual Battle of the Bay.

WASHINGTON - Delaware State put up a tough fight to avoid its first winless season since 1998, but came up short in a 26-21 MEAC loss to Howard in the 2016 finale for both teams in wind-whipped conditions at Greene Stadium this afternoon . The Hornets close out the season at 0-11 overall and 0-8 in the MEAC. Howard snapped a five-game losing streak to finish the year at 2-9 and 2-6.

ORANGEBURG, S.C. - South Carolina State finally got its offense rolling, much to the delight of the Bulldog faithful, however the biggest roar from the crowd in the 32-0 triumph came with just under five minutes left in the opening quarter when 55-year old Joe Thomas took a handoff from quarterback Adrian Kollock Jr. and picked up three yards during the team's second scoring drive.

DURHAM, N.C. - Malcolm Bell accounted for 315 total yards as North Carolina Central beat North Carolina A&T 42-21 to claim its third straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship on Saturday.
