MEAC Announces Weekly Bowling Honors

Bethune-Cookman senior Ivory Miles and Norfolk State junior Briana Gardner were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Co-Bowlers of the Week, the conference announced today.

Miles (5-4, Sr., Bolingbrook, Ill.) was named the Most Outstanding Bowler of the Florida A&M Rattler Invitational this past weekend after averaging a tournament-best 214.2. She notched four 200-plus pin performances in five traditional matches, and her season best of 234 came against nationally-ranked UAB. She also bowled a 224 against Spring Hill and a 220 against Louisiana Tech.

Gardner (5-9, Jr., Stone Mountain, Ga.) led the Spartans to a 9-4 record and a runner-up finish in the Red Flash Invitational this past weekend. She averaged 196.4 pins en route to being named to the All-Tournament Team, and in traditional play, she surpassed the 200-pin mark three times in five games. Her weekend high of 215 came against nationally-ranked Adelphi.

Other Top Performers

Jalesa Johnson (MDES): Averaged 185.2 pins in traditional play this past weekend at the Prairie View A&M Invitational, including a weekend-best 215 against Arkansas State.

MacKenzie Robinson (NCAT): Bowled a weekend-best 258 against nationally-ranked Fairleigh Dickinson, and averaged 190.3 pins in traditional play, in the Prairie View A&M Invitational.
