MEAC Announces Weekly Bowling Honors
Delaware State freshman Alexis Neuer and North Carolina A&T State freshman Tyra Merritt were named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Co-Bowlers of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Neuer (Fr., Lewisburg, Pa.) helped Delaware State finish eighth in the Music City Classic, averaging 198.2 pins in traditional play over the weekend. She bowled a weekend-best 245 against Stephen F. Austin, and she also had a 211 against Saint Francis (Pa.). Her performance helped the Lady Hornets go 3-2 in traditional play and 7-6 overall for the weekend.
Merritt (Fr., Tampa, Fla.) placed 13th individually at the Music City Classic, the highest of any MEAC bowler, after averaging 203.4 pins in traditional play. Of the four traditional matches she bowled, Merritt eclipsed the 200-pin mark three times – including a weekend-best 245 against Valparaiso. She also bowled a 224 against Central Missouri, and she helped the Lady Aggies go 7-5 on the weekend.
Other Top Performers
Thashaina Seraus (MDES) averaged 190.8 pins at the Music City Classic, helping the Hawks to a 10-2 record over the weekend.
