DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Two Bethune-Cookman University Tennis Student-Athletes have been recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as Scholar-Athlete award winners for 2016.

Paolo “Greg” Almeida and Alejandra Vidal each had a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale during the 2015-16 academic year, were varsity letter winners and have been enrolled at least two semesters.

This is Almeida’s second recognition. Now a senior from Sao Paulo Brazil, he was 12-10 in singles play last spring for the Wildcats.

A junior from Maracaibo, Venezuela, Vidal posted a 17-6 record in singles matches and 16-7 in doubles for the Lady Wildcats last spring. She was a second team selection on the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference team and was named to the All-tournament team in May.
