MEAC Announces Weekly Baseball Honors
Florida A&M junior Brian Davis was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Baseball Player of the Week, the conference office announced today. North Carolina Central’s Carter Williams earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Coppin State freshman Quinn Gleed was named Pitcher of the Week.
Davis (5-10, 195, Jr., Pensacola, Fla.) hit .471 (8-for-17) in helping the Rattlers go 4-1 this past week, including a two-game sweep of Mercer and winning two of three against East Tennessee State. He drove in 10 runs for the week, including five in the second game against Mercer, and he hit a home run in the series opener against East Tennessee State. Davis had three multi-hit games, and he scored six runs.
Williams (6-3, 190, Fr., Brown Summit, N.C.) had nine hits in 15 at-bats, helping the Eagles defeat High Point and then pull off the sweep over NJIT. He went 3-for-5 against NJIT in the series finale, and he drove in a pair of runs against High Point. He also had a triple and drew five walks – including three in a 7-3 win over NJIT on Saturday.
Gleed (5-8, 170, Fr., Bothell, Wash.) threw 7.0 innings of one-run ball against Lafayette in helping the Eagles pick up their second win of the season, scattering eight hits and striking out six.

Anthony Maldonado (B-CU) scattered nine hits over 5.0 innings and struck out two against Tennessee Tech.
Tyler Norris (B-CU) struck out six and gave up just four hits in 6.0 innings against Tennessee Tech.
Danny Rodriguez (B-CU) hit two home runs in five games for the Wildcats, and against Stetson, he hit three doubles and a home run.
Andres Santana (CSU) was 5-for-11 (.455) in three games for the Eagles, including a 3-for-4 performance against Harvard.
Eric Blanc, Jr. (FAMU) drove in two runs in an extra-inning win over East Tennessee State.
Jamie Grant (FAMU) gave up just three runs in 7.2 innings of relief.
Dallas Culotta (MDES) was 4-for-8 at the plate in a three-game set at UNC Greensboro.
A.J. Hunt (NCAT) drove in three runs in the series opener against Mount St. Mary’s, going 3-for-5 at the plate.
Kaeson Wilson (NCAT) threw 8.0 shutout innings, striking out three, against Mount St. Mary’s.
Evan Holland (NCCU) hit .438 (7-for-16) for the week and hit a home run in the series finale against NJIT.
Devin Sweet (NCCU) struck out nine in 5.1 innings against NJIT.
Chase Anderson (NSU) struck out eight in 12.0 combined innings of relief.
