DURHAM, N.C. – Former North Carolina Central University baseball first baseman Christian Triplett joins a growing list of Eagles in the professional ranks, as he has signed a contract to play for the Tucson Saguaros of the Pecos League.

Triplett finished his NCCU career as one of the top power hitters in the modern era, as he is within the top three in the modern-era record books with 19 home runs, 89 RBIs and 34 doubles in his four seasons. He's also within the career top 10 with 131 hits and 222 total bases, and he was a lineup fixture with 169 games played and 160 starts.

Triplett has started well with the Saguaros, with eight hits, three RBIs and six runs scored in his first 11 games. The Saguaros are located in Tucson, Ariz. and participate in the 12-team Pecos League, which began play in 2011.

Tucson joined the league in 2016 and won the league championship in its inaugural season.
