DSU Football Coach Al Lavan Receives Contract Extension

Delaware State University Director of Athletics Rick Costello announced a contract extension for Head Coach Al Lavan. This agreement secures Lavan as DSU’s head football coach through the 2012 season.

Pirates Langford Drafted by Dolphins

For the second straight year the Hampton University Pirates has heard one of their defense players name called during the National Football League Draft. Defensive end Kendall Langford heard his name called Sunday morning during the 2008 NFL Draft with the third pick in the third round, No. 66 overall, by the Miami Dolphins.

Hampton to face Jackson State in MEAC/SWAC Challenge

The MEAC/SWAC moves to Orlando and will showcase the MEAC’s Hampton University and the SWAC’s Jackson State University on Labor Day Weekend, Sunday, Aug. 31, live at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN2, from the Florida Citrus Bowl.

MEAC/SWAC Challenge Moves to Orlando; Game Aug. 31 on ESPN2

ESPN Regional Television’s (ERT) MEAC/SWAC Challenge, an annual Historically Black College football game showcasing a team from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), is moving to a new location, Orlando, Fla.
