UMES Names Frankie Allen Head Men’s Basketball Coach

University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Director of Athletics Keith Davidson named Frankie Allen Head Men’s Basketball Coach of the Fighting Hawks. Allen, a former National Coach of the Year in 1993, takes over for Interim Head Coach Meredith Smith whose contract was not renewed.

The 2008 MEAC Basketball Tournament Men’s Champion Coppin State Eagles will face Mount St. Mary’s in the opening-round of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament. The game is slated for 7:30 p.m. at the University of Dayton (Ohio).

McKee Leads Coppin State To MEAC Title Win Over Morgan State

Tywain McKee capped one of the most brilliant individual performances in tournament history, scoring on a five-foot floater with three seconds remaining to give Coppin State University a hard-fought, 62-60 win over Morgan State University in the MEAC tournament final at the RBC Center.
