NORFOLK, Va. - Bethune-Cookman's Brandon Tabb has been selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Howard's R.J. Cole and North Carolina A&T State's Kameron Langley were named Co-Rookies of the Week while Norfolk State's Alex Long and Bethune-Cookman’s Soufiyane Diakite shared Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Tabb (G/F, Sr., Hampton, Va.) averaged 34 points over the past two games as Bethune-Cookman finished the week with a 2-0 mark and has battled back into a three-way tie for first place in the MEAC. The senior from Hampton, Va. scored 34 points on Saturday in a win at Coppin State while holding it down from the free throw line with 13-of-14 free throws made. Tabb nailed six free throws in the final 29 seconds to hold off Coppin State's late charge while setting a career-high in points. Against Morgan State on Monday, Tabb once again tied his career-high of 34 points behind seven three-pointers. He saved his best for last as he scored 18 points in the second half against the Bears.

Cole (G, Fr., Union, N.J.) tied for fourth amongst MEAC players in scoring with 22.5 points to go along with four assists, four rebounds and two steals. He scored 21 points at North Carolina A&T State on Saturday while dishing out five assists and two steals. He returned to action on Monday night with a 24-point, three-assist performance at North Carolina Central.

Langley (G, Fr., Greensboro, N.C.) averaged 13 points with eight assists and two steals for the Aggies. The MEAC leader in steals and assist-to-turnover ratio, Langley had a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists versus Howard while scoring 15 points with four rebounds and six assists against Maryland Eastern Shore. 

Diakite (F, Jr., Bronx, NY) was the MEAC's top rebounder with a total of 24 over the past cycle. He grabbed 12 apiece versus Coppin State and Morgan State along with a steal while also blocking a total of three shots. He has grabbed 10-plus boards 15 times throughout the season.

Long (F, Jr., Clinton, Md.) averaged eight rebounds, blocked four shots and had four steals as Norfolk State won two critical games to remain towards the top of the standings. The 6-8 forward grabbed 10 rebounds, stole three passes and had a block against Savannah State while blocking three shots versus South Carolina State.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Lucian Brownlee (Coppin State) scored 25 points with seven three-pointers off the bench against Bethune Cookman.
 
Marquis Collins (Delaware State) led the Hornets in scoring with 20.5 points in two games. He grabbed seven rebounds with a career-high four assists against Coppin State.
 
Kalin Fisher (Hampton) averaged 25.5 points, six rebounds, and 3.5 assists against South Carolina State and Savannah State. His weekend was highlighted by a career-high 37 points against Savannah State.
 
Derrik Jamerson Jr. (Norfolk State) averaged 16 points and three rebounds as the Spartans defeated South Carolina State and Savannah State.
 
Denzel Keyes (North Carolina A&T State) led the Aggies to two wins during the week averaging 19.5 points and eight rebounds.
 
Tiwian Kendley (Morgan State) scored 29 of his career-high 41 points (13-19 FG) after halftime for Morgan State while also grabbing six rebounds and had five assists and two blocked shots before fouling out against Bethune-Cookman overtime.
 
Davaris McGowens (North Carolina A&T State) averaged 13.5 points and 8.5 rebounds for the week and collected two blocks and a pair of steals against Maryland Eastern Shore.
 
Jordan Perkins (North Carolina Central) averaged a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds highlighted by a career-high 14 assists against Howard.
 
Malique Trent-Street (Hampton) averaged 14 points, 5.5 rebounds and five assists in two wins versus South Carolina State and Savannah State.
 
Desmond Williams (Florida A&M) overcame an injury down the stretch with 19 points and six rebounds against Delaware State. He made four consecutive free throws in the final five seconds to secure the win.
