NORFOLK, Va., Sept. 3, 2018—Morgan State junior Cristen Coryatt and Bethune-Cookman sophomore Jordan Jefferson were named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Co-Players of the Week, the conference office announced today. Morgan State’s Zoe McBride was named Rookie of the Week, while Howard sophomore Fola Wilson earned Defensive Specialist of the Week honors and Morgan State junior Roi Wallace and Howard senior Tamia Dockery were named Co-Setters of the Week.
 
Coryatt (5-9, Jr., OH, Sugar Land, Texas) recorded double-digit kills in all four of Morgan State’s matches this past week, including 19 in the Lady Bears’ home opener against Saint Peter’s – a match in which she also had seven digs and two service aces and hit .275. She also had 11 kills and 11 digs in a straight-set win over Niagara, before closing out the week with 14 kills against Kent State.
 
Jefferson (5-8, So., OH, San Antonio, Texas) was a force in the FAU Invitational this past weekend, recording two double-doubles in three total matches. She opened the tournament on Friday with 22 kills and 14 digs, hitting .328, against The Citadel, before following that up with an 18-kill, 21-dig performance in a four-set win over Saint Peter’s. She also had two service aces and a .304 hitting percentage in that match (.555 over the second and third sets).
 
McBride (6-0, Fr., OH, Ridgefield, Wash.) hit .294 in helping Morgan State to wins over Saint Peter’s and Niagara this past week, averaging nearly three kills per set. She had 13 kills, eight digs and two service aces against Saint Peter’s to open the week, and she closed the week with a 19-kill, 14-dig performance against Kent State, a match in which she hit .277. She also had four service aces and nine digs against Niagara.
 
Wilson (5-3, So., L, Minneapolis, Minn.) averaged over five digs per set for the Bison in what became a 3-1 week, recording double-digit digs in all four matches. She opened the week with 13 digs against No. 1 Stanford, before racking up 14 digs against Texas Southern (to go along with two service aces) and 18 against Lamar. Wilson then closed out the weekend with a career-high 26 digs against Southern.
 
Wallace (5-9, Jr., S, San Dimas, Calif.) averaged a double-double in four matches this past week, racking up 164 assists and 45 digs. Her 10.9 assists per set were the best among all MEAC players for the week, and Wallace opened the week with 60 assists and 18 digs in a five-set win over Saint Peter’s, setting career highs in both categories. She also had 44 assists and 15 digs against Kent State on Saturday.
 
Dockery (5-8, Sr., S, Richmond, Texas) averaged just over 10 assists per set in four matches this past week, helping the Bison to a 3-1 record in that span. She racked up a weekend-best 49 assists against Lamar, finishing one dig shy of a double-double, before turning in a 45-assist, 10-dig performance in a win over Southern. She also had 30 assists and three service aces in a win over Texas Southern to open the weekend’s action.

Shayla Eugene (B-CU) had 22 digs against The Citadel.
 
J’Nai Higgins (B-CU)
had 46 assists and 10 digs in a win over Saint Peter’s.
 
Miajavon Coleman (CSU) had three double-digit kill performances this past week, including 13 against Lafayette.
 
Chelsie Kolibar (CSU) had 13 digs against Lafayette and 11 against Lehigh.
 
Brianna Lang (CSU) had 46 assists against Lafayette.
 
Asia Stennis (CSU) had 17 kills and 12 digs against Saint Peter’s, before racking up 18 kills against Lafayette.
 
Elena Dimitrova (FAMU)
had 30 assists and 20 digs against Central Arkansas.
 
Maria Yvette Garcia (FAMU) had 20 kills against UT Martin.
 
Lucia Babic (MDES) hit .208 for the weekend and had 11 kills against Michigan State.
 
Jasmin Hubbard (MSU)
had double-digit digs in all four matches, including 23 against Kent State.

Edie Brewer (NCAT) had 14 assists and nine digs, falling one dig shy of a double-double against Elon.
